Re: USB port

Hi,

Yes, the USB port on the back of the Smart Hub can be used to share files. By default it uses the address: 192.168.1.254.

You can use this guide from Sonos, showing how to connect: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/78?language=en_US

The share is \\192.168.1.254, you can access this on a Windows PC to see the shared folder, if Sonos can’t find it itself.

Thanks

Re: USB port

I typed \\192.168.1.254 in the share info page on the music library

sonos set up music share.

it said Sonos can’t find this share, I tried putting in the admin password for hub manager

on the next attempt again it said Sonos can’t find it.

just tried it again and nothing happens at all now.

i have looked on my pc and I can’t find it there.

i have looked in the bt hub and the usb is showing there has

storage device on port 1 usb

Re: USB port

Is your network set as Private on your PC?

If you type //192.168.1.254 into your PC does it find the share?

Re: USB port

Your slashes are wrong direction

Try mapping a drive to  \\192.168.1.254\usb1

Re: USB port

If sh2 then USB format needs to be FAT32 not NTFS. There is a large thread about this already

Re: USB port

Don't understand why, but I think FAT32 is only needed for hard drives, I can read an NTFS formatted usb stick just fine on a SH2
