USB socket networking on HH5

Hi there,

I have a Home Hub 5 on BT Infinity and have plugged in a hard drive to the USB socket on the Hub. My I pad, PCs and android devices all recognise it and I can stream the movies and music on the hard drive to any of these devices.  I have a Samsung smart blu ray player which I would also like to recognise the hard drive so I can stream video direct from the hard drive to the TV (through the blu ray, I don't have smart TV).

Any suggestions as at the moment, the blu ray player cannot see the hard drive.

Thanks

Re: USB socket networking on HH5

You would probably be better asking on the Samsung forum. When you do that you should include the model number of the bluray player which will help poster establish if the bluray player supports DLNA and is capable of streaming from a network connected device.

Re: USB socket networking on HH5

You'll probably find the PC and Android devices are seeing the drive using some form of Microsoft Networking i.e., CIFS/SMB via the Samba server on the Home Hub. Check whether the blueray player can recognise that.
