Using a PS Vita for Remote Play on PS4 (HH4)

Go to solution
I have recently bought a Vita so that I can play games on my PS4 out of the home.

It works fine in the house as both are connecting to the same WiFi network, but as soon as the Vita is taken out the home network that's when the problems start.

I've followed Sony's instructions (http://manuals.playstation.net/document/gb/psvita/ps4link/viainternet.html) and the last thing I need to try (UPnP is switched on btw) is to manually up the ports suggested. However, when I try to do that I get the following error:

The game or application you’ve selected conflicts with an application () you’ve already assigned to another device.

Please remove the other application or select the same device.

I do have a Synology NAS application set up with other ports open, but none of them interfere with the three that the Vita requires.

Anyone got any ideas?

If you are manually forwarding ports, then you need to turn uPnP off, otherwise it will cause confilicts.

Thanks Keith - even without UPnP off the error is still the same.

I'll look at the other page tomorrow.

Keith,

I've set the static IP address up on the PS4 as recommended in your link, and in HH4 settings have set up the game/application to point to the IP address of the PS4.

However, the HH4 still shows the same error so I can't save the settings to see if that works.

The only game/application I have setup previously is my NAS and the ports are set up as follows:

Any20-22
Any25
TCP80
Any110-111
Any137-139
Any143
Any443
Any445
Any548
Any873
Any892
Any993
Any995
Any2049
Any3260
Any4662
Any4672
Any5000-5001
Any5005-5006
Any5432
Any6881-6999
Any7000-7001
Any9997-9999
Any55536-55563
Any55736-55863
UDP80

..and as you can see nothing in there interferes with TCP 9295

I don`t know then, all I can suggest that you do is to factory reset the home hub, then disable uPnP, and finally setup port forwarding, starting with TCP 9295 first.

If that works, then add the other rules, and see if you get a conflict.
