Re: What category do I select to get a list of disconnections

Hi @imjolly,

You may have noticed, and probably replied to, some of my comments on daily disconnects.

It was this post https://community.bt.com/t5/Home-setup-Wi-Fi-network/Losing-Boradband-Connection/m-p/1884449#M155445... that prompted me to ask the question.

I have run the WAN log and manually extracted the DSL Link Downs as follows :-

01:06:34, 22 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 311 seconds

03:15:38, 22 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 7548 seconds

20:47:14, 23 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 149349 seconds

22:45:29, 23 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 6942 seconds

22:57:15, 23 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 559 seconds

00:57:37, 24 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 6982 seconds

06:00:43, 24 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 18034 seconds

18:34:25, 24 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 44963 seconds

21:00:09, 24 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 8599 seconds

00:57:59, 25 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 14038 seconds

00:20:33, 26 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 83984 seconds

01:45:57, 26 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 2915 seconds

03:38:23, 26 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 6521 seconds

05:00:02, 26 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 4692 seconds

20:13:34, 26 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 54566 seconds

21:12:21, 26 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 3310 seconds

01:02:07, 27 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 13643 seconds

01:19:00, 27 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 758 seconds

18:19:31, 29 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 233885 seconds

22:57:10, 29 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 16448 seconds

01:05:23, 30 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 7542 seconds

22:25:30, 30 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 76653 seconds

23:13:02, 30 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 2691 seconds

23:21:21, 30 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 359 seconds

23:26:22, 30 Sep.DSL Link Down: duration was 151 seconds

05:59:52, 01 Oct.DSL Link Down: duration was 23392 seconds

As you can see there are far more disconnects occurring than I ever realised.

While they have not resulted in any drastic reduction in my speeds I am more than curious to know what might be causing them please ?

I didn't think there was  a way to get that list apart from manually as you have done   that's a lot of disconnections  you have tried everything so engineer again until one of the engineers finds the problem

Re: What category do I select to get a list of disconnections

Hi @imjolly,

Thanks for the reply.  I think you may realise that I am reluctant to ask for an engineer again as the last time it took the fourth engineer to undo the errors that the other three caused.  Now would not be a good time either as OR engineers are trying to fix problems caused by the contractors that fitted the expansion pod to the fibre cabinet.  There are many people in the village that have been without phone or BB or both for about 3 weeks.

I will keep an eye on the situation for while.  In the meantime do you or any of the gurus, sages or mods have any ideas what might be causing these disconnection please ?  I'm happy to provide any furthe information if it helps.

Re: What category do I select to get a list of disconnections

if you connect to test socket with a new filter (and rj11 cable?),there is no noise on quiet line with corded phone and there is no dial tone at any extension sockets then you have covered everything apart from new hub or external problem
