Wifi connections

We have BT Halo 3 with a HomeHub 2 downstairs, and 1 extra disc upstairs. According to MyBT app both devices have excellent signal. However, the disc can have 8 devices connected, 7 of which are used downstairs, while the HomeHub only has 1 device connected, the doorbell. Can anyone explain why this happens? Is it to do with banding?

Re: Wifi connections

It's devices that choose which source to connect to, not the hub or discs.

The 5Ghz band is faster but has a shorter range than the 2.4Ghz band.

Re: Wifi connections

Do the hub and the disc have dual bands? The majority of our devices are in the same room as the hub, whereas the disc is 5x further away.

Yes, they are both dual band.
