Windows 7 laptop - can it connect by ethernet to Smart Hub

I have a wireless laptop which I think will have no problem connecting to my Smart hub when it arrives.   However I am a bit concerned about the wired laptop which runs Windows 7.     Any solutions - or do I get it upgraded to Windows 10 - and will it work with Ethernet?

Ethernet is not in the slightest bit interested in your operating system. It will work with Windows7 just fine.
