Hi all,
I am currently having the same problem. I have tried running Windows 10 Update on two machines both connected to a BT Smart Hub via WiFi. I am on a FTC Fibre Connection.
I have tried tethering one of the machines to use the data connection on my phone (Three) and then Windows Update works fine.
A number of different people have reported similar issues on the web page below:
www.isitdownrightnow.com/update.microsoft.com.html
(I also tried running the Microsoft Windows Update troubleshooter, which did not resolve the issue.)
Is this just something we need to wait for Microsoft to resolve?
Thanks,

I would imagine that it will be resolved with BT and Microsoft working on the issue together.
Quite a large thread on this issue here, the thread develops as things piece together:
Unable to access Windows Update
Some have reported success by changing there network settings to use the likes of Google or Open DNS rather than their ISP defaults.
Fwiw I'm affected by this but haven't taken any action yet as I assume it will resolve in due course.
Hi Everyone,
I'm really sorry to see you're having problems with your Windows update on your BT connection. We've highlighted this problem to our networks team to investigate and we'll post back here when we have any updates.
Thanks
Neil
