cctv

Strange problem but I have a CCTV monitor connected to my bt router via Ethernet cable.

Every night at midnight it looses connection and won't reconnect and the monitor keeps re booting.

I have got a replacement monitor and this is doing exactly the same.

I wondered if BT sends anything down the line at midnight that could be doing this.

It works fine the next day until it gets to midnight again, weird.

It's not the size of the wand but the magic in the stick.

Re: cctv

Does the Internet connecton drop, check the log on th home hub?

Is the CCTV purely a local viewing one, or do you view it over the Internet?

If its over the Internet, does your public IP change at that time?

Some CCTV cameras will reboot if they cannot transmit their data, as there is usually a watchdog timer which restarts it, when there is no connectivity.

Which BT Home hub do you have?

Re: cctv

Hi, BT SMART HUB.

As far as I know my public ip stays the same, I will check over the next days.

The router dosen't drop connection.

CCTV able to monitor over the internet.
