I have recently had fttp fibre 2 installed. When connected via cable the speed achieved is 70+ mbps as expected. However, when connected via wifi, within 3 feet of the smart hub 2, I only get 50+ mbps.
I have a Sony viao with qualcomm atheros adapter rated at 300mbps (allegedly), and I know this is working OK because my previous router (4GEE) gave me higher speeds.
Hi @capstiksbarn, welcome to the community and thanks for posting, it's not uncommon for your ethernet speeds to be better than wireless and is to be expected due to the nature of wifi. Are you connecting on the 5GHz wifi channel as that is the fastest but may not have as good a range also are the Atheros divers up to date on your PC?
It would be worth going through this wifi checklist to ensure you're getting the best possible wifi speed.
