Can you try turning your wife's iphone off and any other iphones that are connected to the hub and see if your iphone will then connect.
Sorry I'm out of ideas now other than to throw the piece of junk that is the Smarthub into the bin and buy a decent third party VDSLModem/router.
There are a few different ones that forum members use. TP-Link TD W9980 gets a lot of good comments and costs about £60. It is easily set up. More or less plug and play.
There are others and as long as you stick to brand names you won't go wrong. Just make sure it's VDSL and not just ADSL.

for those on iOS10 having issues follow these steps.
1. Goto wifi settings
2. Tap the (i) Icon next to your wifi name
3. Click static
4. enter these settings
IP address: 192.168.1.xxx check the hub to make sure its not going to conflict other devices you can use an address in DHCP range if you are careful
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
DNS: 184.108.40.206 (these are Googles DNS servers) or 192.168.1.254
Search Domains: home
5. Hit the back button at the top and this should save the details.
Above is is the solution which might help. Maybe worth a try before going to the expense of a new router.
If it works then post a reply to let people know in case others have the same problem:)
Re the possible IP conflict. The reason that the OP was asked in message 11 to turn off the other phones that were connected was to try an eliminate that possibility. If no other devices were connected there should have been nothing to conflict with.
