The 6A home hub does have an 'always use this IP address' option for devices on the network. I checked that this is on for the NAS devices.

That option was nearly always a waste of time, as it was never reliable.

You can use an IP address from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.63, as that range is outside of the DHCP range, and the home hub will not interfere with those addresses.

I have a Zyxel NAS, and its very easy to configure it for a static IP address.

From what I remember about the home hubs, you can manually select the endpoint IP address from within the port forwarding screen. That was of course for the home hub 1, which I used originally, until I got fed up with the lack of flexibility.
