replacing home hub 5 for router

Is it possible to replace my home hub 5 for a D-Link DIR-868L Wireless AC1750 Dual-Band Gigabit Cloud Router, as the homehub has a built in modem, will I also have to purchase one or is this not possible for use with infinit

Re: replacing home hub 5 for router

I have that D-LINK 868L

It needs to be connected to a modem so you would need to get hold of a separate modem.

I use the Openreach modem with mine but i'm sure there are others you can buy.

I'm sure others who read this post may be able to tell you what modems are compatibile with infinity

Re: replacing home hub 5 for router

You can get an Openreach modem from a auction site for about £20. I will work out the box with no issues and you can connect your router to that. You will need to set the router up with a PPPoE connection, the username is bthomehub@btbroadband.com .A password is not needed but if the router needs one you can use anything you want.
