BT Converse phone problem

Has anyone else experienced a 'howler' problem with the BT Converse corded phone? On a number of occasions, usually during the middle of the night when I am in bed (and therefore not using the device) I have been woken by the 'howler' alarm that seems to have been tripped. Now, the phone is not in the bedroom and I live alone. Also, the phone is securely on its cradle. It would seem that something is activating this alarm and I have now been forced to disconnect the phone when I turn in at night, otherwise I risk being violently awakened. Any solutions, anyone? Re: BT Converse phone problem

Most likely a fault on the phone itself, where the switch contacts are not fully disconnecting the line when the handset is replaced.

The only way to prove it would be to try a different phone.
