BT texts are a charter for premium rate scammers

If scammer impersonates the BT text service and the receiver picks one of the options by pressing a key then that could be set to lead to a premium rate number!

 

Well done BT!

 

If BT just read out the text, that would avoid the problem.

It's actually a myth that if someone rings you and you press a digit that you can somehow be billed for an expensive call. It's not possible.

Whatever, I still think that there is a posibility of a con merchant impersonating BT and scamming people.  Much better if BT read out the text in the first place.
