BT8500 Advanced Call Blocker phone.

The BT8500 base & phone appears to work correctly. The two extensions in other nearby rooms on ground floor rang on receipt of an incoming call and when answered I can hear the caller but within a few second the extension phones cut out.  I purchased 2 new phones recently and they do not work either.
I wonder if the base is not transmitting a signal strong enough, this is just a thought for an entire amateur.
Batteries are OK

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "cut out", could you explain some more please ?

When the incoming calls are received the ext. phones both ring. I pick up the phone o answer, I can hear the caller voice and I speak about 2 words and the phone goes dead.

So is it just the "extension" phones that cut out ?  What is the battery state on them ?

Yes. 2 exts both faulty. Batteries checked ans all four 2x2 are good.
