BT8500 and BT6500

Go to solution
hello I bought my mum a BT6500 quad set 18months ago. having recently bought the mother in law an 8500 I can see that the 8500 is what my mum needs to block all the silent calls etc that she needs to get rid of. So quick question. If I buy my mum an BT8500 base station can I pair the 3 satellite phones from her BT6500 set with the 8500 base and will call guardian work effectively on the 6500 satellites . Given they are dect and GAP compliant I suspect the answer is yes but want to ask someone with a little more knowledge than myself around this technology thanks Richard

Hi nduli,

Thanks for posting. There shouldn’t be a problem pairing the 6500s with the 8500 base as you’ve rightly pointed out they’re both Dect phones. Page 66 of the 8500 userguide should point you in the right direction.

Cheers

David

Just to be clear whilst you can pair a 6500 phone with an 8500 base easily none of the call guardian features work. All phones in the group must be call guardian phones for call guardian to work properly no matter what phone you pick up.
