My sister is about to move into a new rented apartment, however the previous occupant passed away and there's a dispute between BT and the Solicitor acting on behalf of her estate. BT are refusing to allow my sister to take over the line while this dispute is ongoing and her only option appears to be to provide a new line at a cost of £100 which she just cannot afford.
I should add she is in a wheelchair and needs the landline as well as her mobile phone.
Is there any way of getting round this block on the line?
Get confirmation from the landlord that she is the sole tenant and the previous tenant is deceased. As a last resort, get a copy of the death certificate
