i am using one phoneline in my office. I used to be able to pick up the main ward phoneline using the r and m1 button. that stopped working when i accidently unplugged the phone. how do i reinstate this feature

As I expect that its either a PBX or Featurenet problem
i have already been through the buisness section and they keep telling me to come back here. all i need is someone to talk me through how to program the phone hand set. it is absolutley not a problem with the line.

If you have someone who maintains your phone system, then they may be able to help, as its possible that a wire has become disconnected.
There are many types of recall methods used by PBXs, some use short line break, and others use an additional wires.
Page 9 of the user manual suggests that its just a short line break, so that would point to an issue with the phone, the recall buttion itself, or the PBX.
