Caller ID display not working

Hi, just had my copper phone line changed from Sky to BT. 

On sky the caller ID worked fine. Now BT have taken over the ID just shows as external call. 

Do BT use a different system to sky?

They use the same system.

Please check to see if  Caller Display is switched on by entering the code * # 234 #. If it's active you'll get the message Caller identity will be displayed.

Its not added automatically by BT, you have to add it to your landline. There is no cost to do this.

Tried the code and message says “sorry service not available”
Checked on bt app and it says that I have caller ID enabled

Then its not actually showing the correct status on the app. This has been reported before by others.

Use a web browser and open the link I posted. It should take you to the option to add BT Privacy and caller display.

If its shown as already added, then remove it and progress the order. Then wait 24 hours and add it again. That should start the facility again.

This does not apply if you have the BT Digital Voice service, with the special BT phones.

Excellent 😀

The exchange configuration just needed updating. It can get out of sync with what is held on MyBT.
