HOME PHONE DOES NOT WORK - INTERNET DOES

Hi

I do not get many phone calls, but someone tried today and got engaged tone.

I know it worked about a month ago as got new phones and tested them.

I tried calling it from mobile and also got engaged tone, and noone on it only me here.

I cant dial out also, I tried the test socket with a phone and no dial tone.

I tried troubleshooter page and today that page does not work, stops after the test bit and does not work any further.

Internet works and I am glad of that as need over Christmas periodbeing home.

On the check page I took the socket cover off and 2 wires are connected ok inside.

What could it be, can someone test the line from BT?

Regards

Shirl

Re: HOME PHONE DOES NOT WORK - INTERNET DOES

This is a fault at the exchange or at the cabinet in the street. If you dial your home phone number, it is likely it will appear as engaged. You must call BT on 0800800151 or 151 from a BT Payphone.
