How can a nuisance-call company spoof BT's 1471 service!!!

We keep getting nuisance calls from one particular company despite being registered with the Preference Service. After they've called I've tried a 1471 on several occasions and the number read out is "01959 46637".  This is obviously one digit too short - how can they spoof the BT service????

And how can I stop them calling!

Welcome to this user forum.

You could block calls from that code prefix wih one of the BT Phones that have BT Call guardian, or use the new BT Call Protect service to block that specific number.

Its not a BT service, its a worldwide system used by any telecommunications provider but is easily spoofed. Other than Keith's suggestion, there is nothing you can do about it.
