Installation of new phone line to house

I really need to post a picture of the recent install of a new phone line to the house from the pole. The cable is pinned at the top of the house, then drapes down at a 30 degree angle away from the wall and is lashed around the roof of my front bay window. Is this a correct way to install the cable? It looks temporary/shoddy to me

Then you need to complain to BT Retail, and tell them that the work that Openreach did, is unsatisfactory.

By all means post a picture on this forum, so that other forum members can give their opinion, bu only BT Retail can raise a complaint. Use the "Photos" tool as shown on the editor.

That looks awful, I am sure others will agree.

Complain to BT Retail first. If nothing gets done, then one of the forum moderators can be asked to assist.

OK thanks for the help. It's been a long running 2 year battle to get the fault fixed, and fair play the the last engineer that came out and actually fixed the issue. Unfortunately it looks like this

That may have been done by a sub-contractor working for Openreach, as I would be very surprised if it was a directly employed Openreach Field Technician that did that work.

There must have been a better way to route that cable, even if it involved a longer cable run.

I have turned the image around for you, so its easier for others to see.

Re: Installation of new phone line to house

I don’t know, could’ve been done by an Openreach CST.

Some of the the workmanship I’ve seen done by colleagues is shocking, especially some of the new lads they’ve been employing. Wouldn’t even let them onto my street, let alone in my house.
