Intermittent fault on Business line

Small business so phone line important.

past month phone rings twice then cuts out (not always but alot) thought it might have been Indian call centres until last week when my residential line developed a local area fault.

Called BT business today to test my line and came back as fault maybe inside so did the master socket test to find no dialling tone yet phone on extensions still work all be it with intermittent fault.

first available engineer in 5 days time yet I thought business lines had to be fixed within 24 hours-call centre reluctantly informed me they will look at refunding rental charges on a daily bases once line is fixed-if only we could pay our line rental on a daily bases, also confirmed that if no dialling tone from master socket then no charges will be made-worries me when i read the horror stories on this forum.
