Just moved, reconnect old line?

Hi

As above really. Just moved to a new house, and have an existing line fitted. Nobody knows who it was with previously, however it has a openreach master. On plugging a phone in, i have a tone, but on entering a few digits, i get 'number not reconised, please try again message.......... So, i presume its been cut off. I dont know the existing phone number, so i'm a bit stuck on where or who to contact.

Basically i want it reconnecting, then broadband adding

Regards

Gary.

will it work if you try 17070 - line test and normally repeats number of phone

Re: Just moved, reconnect old line?

First of all dial 1470 17070 and that should tell you the phone number.

Then try 150 first to see if that works.

If not, then its best to place an order online at http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/

IMJ (I do know your nameSmiley Wink),

Its best to prefix with 1470, because if the phone number is withheld, then the number will not be released.

Its done that way for security.
