Hi all, I have Halo 250 and a landline. My landline has stopped working. I get dial tone, but whatever number I ring I get the announcement 'The number you have dialled has not been recognised, please check the number...'. I've tried 100, 150, local numbers and distant numbers. All get the same response. BT Faults from my mobile - tried multiple times over last two days but am getting nowhere. Longest waiting time 47 minutes without reply. Any ideas?
Ring 17070 and make sure it is your telephone number repeated back. You may have a crossed line.
Hi, it's repeating back a completely different number.

Then you need to report it to BT as a crossed line. Tell them the number that you are crossed with as it may help Openreach to locate the problem. You should be able to report it online, without ringing up, but you are going to need to request an engineer visit, as that is the only way it will be fixed.
You should be able to ask for a free divert of any incoming calls, to a mobile.
While you're waiting, you should note the contents of this earlier topic just in case whoever has your line is making regular calls to Timbukto!
