Lost landline number during broadband switch

Hi @barrywagner I'm sorry that you have had you phone number changed when changing broadband supplier. Please can you confirm who the current provider of your telephone line is.

@barrywagner can I just clarify, what exactly has happened here?

I am guessing you were with Sky for your line, and your broaband was with provider X (either Sky or someone else). You then moved your broadband to provider Y, and during that process your number with Sky has changed. Is this correct?

@barrywagner We’re not able to help if you’re not a BT customer, so I wanted to clarify whether that was the case first, as the first post was a bit vague.

 If you’ve not had services with us (BT) then your phone provider is the one that needs to fix this for you.

If I have misunderstood do let me know.

What you were being asked is if BT are the provider you are moving to, or provider you are leaving , if they are not involved, either as the company you are leaving , or the company you are joining, then your problem isn't really anything to do with BT and unsurprisingly, BT will be unable to help..

You need to speak to the providers involved.

Hi 

i moved from bt to sky this was because of a house move there is no bt fibre to new property hence the change

Then its Sky that needs to sort it out, nobody on this forum would be able to help.

Try the Sky user forum https://helpforum.sky.com/

Sky have their own equipment and phone number ranges, but should be able to port your old BT number over.
