Master sovket

Go to solution
Am trying to put my phone socket back together, I have 4 wires available - black, orange, white and green. I have a new mk socket, previous one was destroyed. On rear of socket are the numbers 1 to 6, which wires connect to the numbers

What does your master phone socket look like?

Master socket with one socket

Or

Master socket with two sockets

Then its probably the wrong type, as it needs to be a master socket with the extra components inside.  It must have that extra component in it, plus a resistor and lightning protector.

The correct replacement would be an NTE5C with a MK4 faceplate as shown here.

The direct replacement for your broken one, is described on my last post.

Look at the part about the MK4 filter, on that document.

You can buy the whole unit for about £15.
