My address and phone line don't match up on the openreach database.

I have lived at my current address for nearly 3 years. 2.5 years ago the properyname was changed. I have found out that my phone number is not registered to my address. I rang up and James told me that they have to change my address to another address which is also not mine before it can be changed to the cortrect one. How can I get this sorted as it has been going on for some time and the last time I asked BT to sort it out they just changed my corespondence address. It is really stressful. I can't work out what address my number is attached to and certainly don't want to attach it to my neighbours address before I change it to my own.

I have asked a moderator to provide assistance, they will post an invite on this thread.
They are the only BT employees on this forum, and are based in the UK.

Thanks for posting. I am sorry that you haven't been able to get the help that you need. We will do all we can to help you.

This should be straightforward providing your address is already listed with the Royal Mail. Can you check that it is through the following page please? Royal Mail Postcode Finder

Thanks @thomas2,

We'll be able to send off a request to Openreach so that they update their records. We'll be able to update ours then too.

To get in touch with us, click on my user name and then copy and paste the link under "Moderation Team Email Address" into your browser.  Complete that form and we'll get back in touch with you.

When you're completing the form please tell us the correct address as it appears exactly with the Royal Mail. Openreach will be using that information to match your line. After we send our request to Openreach it can take 7-10 days for them to update their records.
