With the monopoly which BT enjoys in much of the country, it's a big problem when you develop a fault on your BT line as I have experienced.
My phone line stopped working over 2 months ago. An engineer came out, determined the problem is with the exchange. Initial customer service was pretty good. Since then nothing has been fixed. The source of frustration is the many calls placed into an offshore call centre who clearly exist only to deflect all calls into a black hole. No calls are EVER returned despite promises to the contrary. No status updates. Every single operator in the offshore call centre tells the same lies.
Just yesterday I was promised a call back from a manager between 10 and 12. Imagine my surprise when no call was forthcoming. BT you are the pits.
Really not sure what to do now. Hence posting on this board, I can see others have experienced similar dreadful experience at the hands of this company.
Since all my neigbours phone lines are working, strange to understand why only my line on my street would be broken at the exchange. If I was to go out and buy a new line that would probably work. So not sure why BT can't just do that rather than leaving me offline for 2 months and no end in sight.
Would appreciate some contact details for BT in the UK or advice on who to contact to force some action from BT.
