Re route cables attached to our property , no wayleave agreement but Openreach say we have to pay

We moved into our property just over a year ago and we are requiring to do extensive building works and need the cables which are attached to our propery in numerous places rerouted so these can be carried out. We have paid £297.00 to get a survey done with Openreach and the quote came back at £3300.00 . The cables are for our property plus 5 other houses behind us. We have since found out that there is no wayleave agreement in place but Openreach are still saying we need to pay. Can someone please advise where we stand. Many thanks

This is a BT Retail forum and has nothing to do with Openreach.

Try contacting Openreach via this page, I suspect you will have to pay either way.

If it helps I think/don't actually know.

If one of the 'cables' is supplying your property then no waleave is required.

This was probably agreed with previous owner under a Customer Service Contract with Openreach.
