1571 did have remote access, I used it most days for a number of years. It only worked from one mobile number that the user had to register. To access voicemail you rang home from the registered mobile, let it ring through to voicemail, pressed "*" which flipped you to the answerphone function with the usuall press 1 to... functionality of an answerphone.
It's a shame BT see fit to charge for 1571 and even more to access it remotely. We have an answerphone that gives us this functionality but it was easier to use 1571.
Unlike others I don't think it's time to leave BT, my broad conenction is too good with BT to move. We'll just use the answerphone instead 🙂
In the Forum, I see that this is an old problem, so why am I getting it now? I just called BT help and was told to set up a PIN on option 3 on 1571. I did this but when I try the remote-access, I just hear 'Good bye' and nothing else. So is this a new version of the old problem or something new? Thanks if anyone knows!
