ansaphone stopped working

my ansaphone has stopped working on the landline and not certain why, the phone rings contiually and the voicemail wont kick in, when I try to ring 1571 it says I cannot connect,.

help would be gratefully accepted

Thanks.

Can you please plug the phone directly into the test socket, and see if it still rings all of the time?

Hi Brian

thank you for your support, I have a different master socket called 5C and there is switch on side I have put the plug into the test within the socket and I rung the landline and there wa no ringing and it appears that the call wasnt going through.

does this make things clearer!!

Where was it plugged in when it was ringing all of the time, I assume you mean the phone was ringing, and not just ring tone you could hear when you called the number?

If you hear ring tone, and the phone does not ring, but you can still dial out, then that is most likely a fault in the exchange equipment, which is quite common.

I would check your phone number by dialling 17070, just in case you have a crossed line. That will tell you your number, which you can compare with your own number.
