Tree pushing my line up causing interference

Hi, my BT phone line runs from my house across the road to the pole. Across the road is a derelict coal works. There is a tree from this site that has overgrown and one of the branches is pushing the line up. I have interference on my line and am assuming this could be the issue. Who is responsible for cutting the branch off this tree so it is not on the BT line? Is it BT or the Council?

Thank you

Re: Tree pushing my line up causing interference

BT do not provide or maintain the external network. This is done by Openreach who work for all service providers. BT do not get any special treatment.

Unless there has been a fault reported to them via a service provider, they will not normally do anything.

If you do have a fault, then report it to your service provider, which would be BT Retail, if you pay BT for your line rental.
