Ashes test recording -total shambles

I've posted before about problems with recording the Ashes series on TNT . Just to comment that it has continued to be a complete shambles. Both full day and highlights programmes are shown as correctly set on series record. Sometimes it works, sometimes it just disappears and doesn't. This morning, I found neither had recorded and the series recording had disappeared from ' scheduled' even though the guide was showing it as set up to do so.

I know we have the back up of Discovery plus, although you have to sit through adverts on the highlights package and I have had other niggles with discovery plus too.

Basically, however, it seems that recording sport via the  tv guide/box is a complete lottery.

Re: Ashes test recording -total shambles

Yes,the Ashes Recordings last night were a nightmare, didn't Record as Scheduled. Then I found I couldn't Record manually.Eventually I unplugged Box for a Minute and when I re-started found I COULD manually Record but then this morning when I sat down to watch it had only Recorded 2 Hours.

Latest is that, hopefully,TNT Sports will be the last Channels to move to a new Process this week that may cure this.

Sit it out (do NOT Factory reset or contact BT for new Box,probably no help).

Re: Ashes test recording -total shambles

We were told the whole guide reliability thing was going to be fixed a few weeks ago. Was it delayed or didn't work?

No point in doing anything other than sit it out as this is the last test match and I rarely record anything else on TNT, and this is an almost new BT Pro box.

Good to know its not just me though!

I find I can skip over the ads on Discovery+ content (except occasionally while chase-playing live coverage).  But even better for the highlights is to watch them from the EETV app which conveniently strips out the ad breaks though you see the bumpers where they would be.  Only need to wait a little after the highlights are broadcast before they pop up on the EETV app.
