Was working yesterday afternoon so did not watch the England game until yesterday evening in full.
My plan then was to watch the extended highlights of the Scotland game this morning before watching the Ireland game in full later in the day. But! The extended highlights of the Scotland game will not become available until tomorrow morning whereas the extended highlights of the other two game are available today. Why the delay? Surely they can find a spare hour across one of the four channels sometime this morning?
Note that my SOP as a guard against spoilers is to always watch coverage in strict event order so not risking watching the Ireland game first.
Next week should hopefully work better for me as I will be catching up with the six rugby matches as a mix of full and XHL during the following week after concentrating mainly on MotoGP and F1 over the weekend.
I too was reliant on on demand/ Catchup of the va rugby internationals this weekend . The availability on discovery + was variable .. for example I couldn't find or access any replay UHD coverage of the England Australia game (TNT ULTIMATE) although bizarrely they offered two full matches replays in HD (TNT 1 and TNT 2) on Saturday night,
Data available on EETV via the universal Youview search for QUILTER nation Series found on Saturday night some discovery+ on demand content for 3 programmes ., the (look ahead show.) , the England/Australia game with an availability of I think 2 months and the Scotland game with a availability of 2 days. The next day (Sunday) through the Scotland game had already expired, the next day (Monday) the England game had also disappeared.
So in conclusion I have experience dthere is either missing Catchup on discovery + or an absence of links to where the content can be accessed on the discovery + app. Secondly the data currently being provided to YOUVIEW by discovery + to enable viewers to see the available programming seems incomplete and not being consistently maintained.
As for spoilers not impressed with the Premier League soccer commentary team giving the current scores of the Rugby matches during their match.
That is totally unprofessional in my view. Commentators should totally concentrate on the game/event they are calling and the broadcaster should not be popping up news about what is happening elsewhere (which I have also seen happen). Yes, I could multiscreen events live as they often suggest but I prefer to watch in a linear manner all on the big screen. In fact, it is the broadcaster who is being old-fashioned in not recognising the ubiquity of chase-playing and catch-up in the modern streaming media world allowing the viewer to time-shift their watching to a time more convenient for them.
The one exception might be the final round of matches were championship/promotion/relegation issues are are stake but even then my preference would be for a separate around the grounds coverage alongside the the regular match coverage though these days the crowd and dugouts will be seeing and reacting to news from elsewhere as it happens.
