I am thinking of moving from SKY TV/broadband to BT TV/broadband. I have a relatively new LG Smart TV. I currently get Sky Sports in HD via the Sky box, but on an LG TV you cannot get SKY Sports on the NOW TV app in HD, even with Boost. If I switch to BT TV, would I be able to get Sky Sports in HD through NOW TV via the BT box, or would I still have the same problem?
Solved! Go to Solution.
The issue with the app on your Smart TV is probably because the OS is not compatible with the lastest version of the NowTV app. With BT TV, the app is on the Youview box so you shouldn't have any issues.
The NowTV channels are also on the EPG as well 👍

LG TV
(Boost only available with LG Web OS TV)
LG Web OS has been around in various versions since 2009, so any LG TV you have bought will have a version of it.
The NOW app on an LG TV with Web OS supports up to 1080p and 5.1 audio with Boost, the problem is it doesn’t support 50fps, which is vital for fast moving sports.
As other have said, you will be much better off watching through the BT TV box in this scenario.
