I had until yesterday a XBox payment. although my bill I payl a little later this month, the access to xbox was not working. Tried getting to speak to a person I gave up as seemed to be going in circles. So I cancelled the XBox , but on accessing my bill details online, the payment of £12 is still showing as needed. I received e-mail confirming cancellation.
Either a mistake has been made somewhere, or pay,ents are taken a month behind, which doesn't make sense to me

i notice that there were some issues that you experienced in previous years described in this thread.
i suspect given that the forum moderation team does not have account access you will need to go back to customer service by phone or live chat.
i wonder whether your cancellation came either too late for the current billing cycle or whether the cancellation might be subject to a notice period ( possibly 30 days ).
