Amazon Prime Video for UHD boxes slips to mid-October

For those waiting for Amazon Prime Video to arrive on their UHD boxes it seems you'll be waiting until mid-October.

Orginally promised during the summer, new information on BT's website under the heading, How do I get it? seems to suguest the release date has now slipped to mid-October...

Re: Amazon Prime Video for UHD boxes slips to mid-October

It can be disapointing when products and services are not delivered on time, but I think its important not to deliver a service that may effect the customer experience they want for what ever reason.  I would rather it have a short delay and the service when launched be fault free.

Which I agree if that is the case. But is that the reason for the delay?

Perhaps BT should inform it’s customers why there is a delay?

Re: Amazon Prime Video for UHD boxes slips to mid-October

Hi All,

First of all @4KTVFan, thanks for flagging the article which mentioned the G5 box and Amazon Prime. We have removed that article completely.

As you know, the deployment of the app has been delayed. The technical aspects are more challenging with the G5 box so it's taking longer than we had hoped but it is on the way.

Thanks

In another thread a Mod said the release is now November. In BT talk that means 4K boxes will get around May 2025.

Even when we get it it will be a poor version just like the Netflix app (No HDR like the native app on my Smart TV).

BT is becoming a real JOKE of a company this and loosing the sports:

I'll be glad when June 2019 comes and I can cancel my BT Subscription it's NOT worth it anymore.
