@Roscotia
What Homehub do you have in your setup?
I have a home hub 4 (Was a beta tester) and I am using powerline adaptors and get all of the channels OK including BT sports. Think it may be the luck of the draw.
I think its a Home Hub 3
i was all set to bin my devolo 200AV PLA adapters and upgrade them since i was having issues and I read all about multi cast, IGMP etc.
Seesm the key is being on a Home Hub or other ADSL modem with a downstream chain that carries the multicast. I have HH3 with port 1 going to PLA, and then PLA going to 4 way ethernet switch behind TV, and one cable from there to YouView box.
I had to take my Airport Extreme out of the loop as it doesnt work.
It now works fine on all the channels HD and SD.
Hopefully when I get my replacement Homehub 3 that will solve my problems.
My PLAs are 200 Mbps. Would it make any difference if I upgraded to 500 Mbps ones?
it wont make any difference as the bandwidth they offer will never be used.
Homehub 3 arrived today.
Fitted it and everything worked first time using 200mb Devolo homeplugs..
Another sarcastic well done to BT for not checking if the router I already had from them was compatible with the service they are selling.
Homehub 2 dont waste time trying to get it to work.
Congratulations Scamartist! You've given me fresh hope. My Home Hub is a 3. The PLAs I have been using were supplied by BT when I first got Vision years ago. They are Simpler Networks 200Mbps. Does anyone know if these are a good make? They've been fine with the old silver box but the new black box seems to need a stronger signal. Would it be worth my trying a better quality of PLA before giving up and going back to the old box?
