BT could lose Champions League.

Anyone else seen the stories on various outlets that BT could lose Champions League in the next rights auction to  bids from ITV/Sky. Could be a massive blow to BT subscriptions if they were to lose them. What does everyone else think?

Re: BT could lose Champions League.

It is the same story that is run everytime the Champions League or Premier League rights come up for auction - whoever has them.

Doesn't matter who has the rights today - somebody else will bid next time making a challenge.

Just pray ITV don't get them.

Re: BT could lose Champions League.

They could have also lost them last time around but they didn't. Not only did they outbid Sky but they also managed to get rid of the requirement to broadcast the finals FTA. UEFA were reported to have been very impressed with the level of coverage that BT provided and were happy to stay with BT Sports.

Re: BT could lose Champions League.

They need to keep some football after giving up/losing other rights recently.

Re: BT could lose Champions League.

Well it would create a bit more air time for other sports, what about bringing back Indoor League?
