Re: Disney+ coming to BT - Question

@051

The report has been updated to state -
The pair were this weekend putting the final touches to a multi-year partnership. Sky’s rivals Virgin Media and BT will be able to carry the Disney+ app, however, they will be unable to offer Disney+ fully integrated with other programming.

So all they are doing is deeper integration and included billing, pretty much a none story in that respect.

Re: Disney+ coming to BT - Question

That's good then. From how it read initially, they were effectively blocking everyone else out

Re: Disney+ coming to BT - Question

I am reading the press thing here as a bundling option.

https://advanced-television.com/2020/01/27/sky-disney-deal-on-the-brink/

Not for keeps yet but I was going to get it through the Apple TV anyway. Streaming rate is great as is the BT box for 4k but Apple does HDR10.

Re: Disney+ coming to BT - Question

Not to mention Dolby Atmos which the AppleTV seems to be the only device this is working on properly at the minute. Question is what HDR formats will the new BT box support 😄

Re: Disney+ coming to BT - Question

@scointer I would suggest HDR10 and HLG and Dolby minimum. With HDMI2.1 hardware.

Time will tell.

HDR10 is pretty much used across the board and open source.

Dolby will attract a cost for inclusion.

HLG is the preferred live broadcast (why BT uses 10 for sport, no idea. mobile distribution??)

HDMI2.1 is rolling out now, box needs to be future proof.
