Not one Premier League footy match on Boxing Day?

Go to solution

Correct me if I am wrong but just checked the BT SPort schedule and there is not one EPL match being shown on BT Sport on boxing day?

If so then a very poor show from BT.  No doubt all down to 'contractual reasons' but regardless it is the most high profile sporting day of the year and we do not have one match.  Even from a marketing point of view even one match would be fine, think of the potential selling point with loads of friends and relative round at other houses for Boxing Day and the householder brings up BT sport for a match, explains it only costs £6 a month compared to Sky and the guests then realise that Sky is a rip off.

Contracting for live PL coverage is hugely complicated and expensive, and it's a bit naive to slam BT's share on the basis of Xmas coverage in isolation. Anyway, if you want to impress your kith and kin, you don't need much more than a tenner to get the whole week's matches in your living room.

There is article here

So bank holiday games would be in package G which Sky currently have.
