Hi BT Community,
Recently upgraded to BT TV Pro box. Added Netflix ‘premium ultra HD’ package, yet can’t seem to get 5.1 on the box.
Programme titles don’t say 5.1, yet if I log into Netflix directly via the TV, I get 5.1.
Why doesn’t the BT box give this, as this was the reason for upgrading?
Any help appreciated, as Netflix say it’s a BT box problem.
The Pro Box supports everything up to Atmos so I'd check how your connected up to your audio device. If you're going HDMI from the Pro Box to TV and then SPDif out, it won't carry 5.1 through as it'll be blocked by HDCP.
You'll probably need to go either HDMI to your audio device for video and audio and then loop the video out by HDMI to your TV and SPDif directly from the Pro Box to your audio device.

Thanks for info. I should’ve added, all other apps giving 5.1 and sound great. It’s the Netflix app that looks like it’s not providing 5.1 for some reason via the Pro box.

Check your various settings because I have a Pro Box and it definitely outputs 5.1
