BT Answer machine not answering?!

When I receive a call on the landline, the phone will ring for the correct amount of rings but the answer machine doesn’t always click in and play my answer machine message.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Virgin Media have their own exchanges, so its possibly an issue with their equipment.

Thanks for the confirmation the BT4600 should be OK on non BT lines, if you are having a problem reset the base to the factory settings, Question When you get an I/C call dose the phone base ring and dose the call get answered?

I would recommend that you reset the BASE using the settings > reset > base settings , for help on doing this see http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/55729/~/bt4600
If you still have a problem just check the phone on a BT Line just in case is a line condition on the Virgin line

Also check if you have Virgin 1571.. if it is stopping the call.
