Re: Don't even know where to start with this one - bucket list

@bucketlist , a person I know in Stafford, his name’s John, worked in one of the 2nd Floor offices , that you’ve ringed, in the  early 80s. And it happened to be next door to what was the “Teleprinter Workshop”. So very likely the Fax machine repair place you remember.  As an engineer too, he knew the two people working there Mick and Stan ( Stan, Stan the teleprinter man he was known as!!). Unfortunately that’s all he could  recall but sounds like you’ve now got the floor of the building. John’s not on this forum but I can ask him if you’d like to chat to him further. But as others have said you’ll be struggling to set foot in the building. As suggested in a previous post your best bet  is a nicely crafted letter / email to the Chairman’s office. Take care. Good luck!

Re: Don't even know where to start with this one - bucket list

Mick is (was) my dad. Cliff his dad before him, my grandad. Stan was the guy I remember from the lift. This is epic.

You can pass on my regards but I think as others have mentioned it's going to be an elaborate letter to head office simply because of all the red tape.

Thanks so much for your input

Re: Don't even know where to start with this one - bucket list

I apologise to Stan, by the way, whether with us or not, for labelling him merely as the "lift attendant". This has jogged some memories and I always remember him sitting on a chair in the ground foyer and he'd jump in with us to go back up, from there I forget where he went.
