Fiber in the area but cabinet box is full

Go to solution

I live in an area that has fiber available but the cabinet box is full.

To add to the complexity I am moving to a small but a new development estate round the corner that will have the same issue as the houses opposite are in the same position.  Not sure if this helps a solution or creates a bigger issue as there will be more demand.

Is there anyway to request Openreach to add capacity to a cabinet or at least understand when they will add capacity?

Thank you in advance 🙂

Cheers

Ryan

@RyanMacm

You would have to ask Openreach, as nobody on this BT Retail forum would be able to help.

https://www.openreach.com/help-and-support/questions-about-fibre-availability

Usually if there are enough orders pending, from Service Providers, and its actually possible to add capacity, then they will do that,

The new development will almost certain be FTTP, as Openreach are no longer fitting new FTTC cabinets, and are concentrating on FTTP. That will not impact on your current situation.
