@navzptc

I operate the website

You have to be connected to your own home BT Broadband connection, not BT Wifi.

Its nothing to do with your BT broadband account, as the website has nothing to do with BT, it just a private website which has been in operation for many years, and provides some additional help with certain subjects.

Connections to my website have to come from btcentralplus, btopenworld, bt.com or bt.co.uk.

All other domains are directed to my public website, where you saw the message.

You can check your public IP by visiting websites like What Is My IP. They will tell you which domain your current connection is registered with, and your IP address.

If you still think you have an issue, then if you tell me what your public IP address is, I will check the entry on the Ripe database, to see if it belongs to BT. I will also need to know the exact time you tried to visit my website, so I can look in the logs, to see where your visit ended up.

If you want general help from BT, then visit the normal BT help pages, which are public facing.

Hi Keith,

Many thanks for coming back to my question.

I have gathered the information you requested, and here it is:

ip: 147.148.150.115 and sites I have used state it is either british telecommunications plc, BT or BTL which maybe why it is not working as not on your list??

Last tried to access at 1519 GMT.

Many thanks for your assistance,

Andy

@navzptc

The problem is, that

 147.147.0.0 - 147.152.255.255

Is not registered in DNS as its a BT Corporate range, however I have added it to the IP range of my website, untill I can look into it.

Please try again now.

Its an old legacy IP range, which is a bit odd. Were you connected to your own home residential BT Broadband connection?

I do remember some similar issues a couple of years ago.

Yes on all attempts using desktop on lan to hh5.

Wondering if this could have anything to do why my hh6's would lose dns capability with bt servers but ok with Google's etc? - bt sent me the hh5 after contacting them about it.

That could well be the case. I do know that BT were/are running out of IPv4 adresses, so I suppose its possible they. could have used some of the old BTNET ones, but I thought they were only used for business not residential.

I assume you are a BT residential customer?

Anyway, I will have to see if anyone else has issues. I do keep a separate log for the nonbtbroadband website, but it would be a lot of trouble to look up every IP address that did not have an entry in DNS Smiley Wink

Are you on ADSL of BT Infinity?

Do you get the same IP address each time you restart the home hub?
