So to add to this chain. I have a similar issue but the opposite. Whereas I went from Bt to virgin media who use voip for my landline. So I’ve ended up with a wire as per this thread. any suggestions?

fair point. But would have thought the service BT provided would have warned me prior to leaving a hanging wire, maybe would have kept a customer. if you have a solution why wouldn’t you mention. I do have a second property and 2 other accounts with BT so would appreciate any support
This is just a customer to customer help forum, the only BT employees are the forum moderators who can only assist BT Retail customers, when there is a fault that cannot be resolved by forum members.
Any external wiring left, is the responsibility of Openreach, and you can ask it to be removed, but there is likely to be a charge.
