Worst Xmas Pressy Ever

Hi All,

Following Chris best ever prezzy post I though I’d flip the coin and see what’s on the other side so I’m looking for the “Worst ever Xmas prezzy”.

Now, we’ve all had the usual Santa socks, ill fitting novelty jumpers and completely useless things like snake shaped draught excluders but I’m looking for the really pants stuff. The kind of thing you immediately pass on to a distant relative you never see anyway.

So, I’ll start. I once bought an ex-girlfriend a saucepan set in tartan. It was quite simply the most horrendous looking thing ever. It would have looked out of place in a charity shop which I’m sure is where it ended up.

Also, a few years ago I bought my now wife a Will Smith DVD boxset and a few CDs that I wanted for myself anyway. The look on her face said it all, I won’t repeat what she actually said.

We’ve all had ‘em so come on and join in.

Xmas cheers

David

Re: Worst Xmas Pressy Ever

Easy one for me this Smiley LOL

I've been clean shaven all my life.

My brother in law bought me a beard and moustache trimming kit.

Quality AQ,

That's just the type of thing I'm after. A mate once got a set of Margaret Thatcher nut crackers. There has to be a joke in there somewhere.

Re: Worst Xmas Pressy Ever

I have never been clean shaven since I turned eighteen so the after shave presents are real duds. AQ and I will arrange to swap!

Re: Worst Xmas Pressy Ever

Hi Stuart,

Thanks for popping in. Yup, sounds like a plan alright. The office had more than a few dodgy top lip poodles during the last Movember so you might wanna drop em over. I'm sure we could put any shaving implements to good use!!

Cheers

Was she ex- before or after you bought her pots for Christmas?

I've never had a truly awful prezzy. The Pyjamas my mum bought me when I was 20 odd are still in their packet 30 years on. The duffle coat she got me the year after was 3 sizes too big. Shamefully all I had to do was leave it on the peg downstairs for 25 years and it fits me now (it's actually really cozy). My sister once got me what she thought was a joke **bleep** present: a USB fan. It was actually dead useful (the one thing the USB port on a BT Vision box is handy for)...that was until it flew apart after a couple of years and nearly had my eye out.

There was one year I bought my sister videos of Jean de Florette and Manon de Sources. I got a similarly sized parcel from her containing Jean de Florette and Manon de Sources and it turned out they were both premiered on the Beeb anyway that Christmas. Well used since, though, so not really **bleep** presents.

Re: Worst Xmas Pressy Ever

Hi Guilbo,

Funny enough she was an ex shortly after the saucepan incident but what can ya do?

Getting the same DVDs from your sister must have been a bit odd but if ya have similar tastes then it’s to be expected I suppose. The wife still watches the Will Smith movies so I guess it didn’t turn out to bad. She did marry me after all!!!Smiley LOL

Cheers

Re: Worst Xmas Pressy Ever

Hi guys,

Just had a read about Jean de Florette and Manon de Sources. Sounds like interesting viewing for sure. I haven’t watched too many movies like that. The last non English movie I watched was Downfall so I must try and check them out.

Cheers
