Incoming messsages rejected by server

I have tried to send test messages to my btinternet.com address from a gmail address.

Gmail were unable to deliver the messages - code 554, looks like spam.

Not sure why this is happening, I'm concerned that emails from other senders may be rejected and I would not know.

My reason for sending the tests was to check that it was ok to use upper case letters in the BT address which is normally all lower case, second attempt using usual lower case address also rejected.

Have I tripped somekind of spam filter and will this cause problems with incoming messages from others?

Any advice please. Thanks.

Re: Incoming messsages rejected by server

It may be that you have blocked the gmail domain.

You should log onto your BTMail account using a browser, not an email client/app, and then click on your username at the right hand side.

Select "Settings" then go to the left hand side and select "Mail". Scroll down and click on "Blocked Senders".

Scroll down the list until you find the one you want to unblock ie in this instance "gmail" and select it. Click on the small "Trash" symbol at the right hand side. It will only delete the email address/ domain from the blocked senders list not your contacts list.

Re: Incoming messsages rejected by server

Thanks for the reply.

I have done as you suggest but there is no blocked domain, there are a couple of old blocked addresses (as it happens they are gmail) but I don't think they are relevant.

Since my original post I have received a few mails including some from gmail addresses so my fear that all incoming emails may be being rejected was unfounded.

Thanks for your help.
